Jo’s 5K run

The charity TimeNorfolk was very beneficial to me last year, helping me through my postnatal depression with several months of weekly counselling sessions. I have since continued to grow stronger and more hopeful in myself and wanted to be able to help other women experiencing emotional difficulties around pregnancy and early motherhood.

I have since found regular running to be helpful for my state of mind and wanted to do a fun physical challenge to mark my efforts.

On Saturday 14th May, I completed a 5k obstacle course run. A couple of friends joined me as we got up close and personal with a lot of muddy bums, whilst crawling under nets, between tyres and through tunnels. I turned a bit hysterical on the huge pink space hoppers, launching myself high into the air while screaming “wheeeee!!”. We ended the race whizzing down a huge slide in unison into a trough of mud!!

Feilden + Mawson Hadrians Wall Hike

In 2016 the architects firm Feilden + Mawson hiked 26 miles along Hadrians Wall in aid of TimeNorfolk.

The adventure started on Friday when the Norwich, Cambridge and London offices boarded their respective minibuses for the journey up to Northumberland, where we stayed at the Allendale Bunkhouse.

We arrived Friday evening and prepared a pasta supper before retiring to our bunkbeds.
The day of the trek started early on Saturday with breakfast at 6:00am, leaving the bunkhouse at 6:30am to get to the start at Chesters Roman Fort at Chollerford in good time to set off at 7.30am.
The group split during the day as the trek progressed and unfortunately injuries meant that not everybody completed the 26 miles, however Lanercost Priory near Brampton was a welcome sightfor the finishers, coming in at between 10 hours and 12.5 hours!

Well done to everyone who started, finished and also the support team and minibus drivers for a very successful fundraising event.

40 Miles in May 2017 – Complete 40 miles in memory of a loved one and fundraise

We chose to complete 40 miles because it costs us £40 to provide one of our face to face support sessions.

During 2016 TimeNorfolk was able to support over 150 male and female clients following pregnancy loss, offering an unlimited number of face to face support sessions as well as group counselling sessions.

During May 2017 we invited you to complete 40 miles in whichever way you would like whether that is walking, running, swimming cycling, horse riding or even roller skating and collect sponsorship for doing so to help us continue our work.
