We are looking for people who can help us fundraise towards a maternity bereavement suite at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
We are working with Kari the bereavement midwife from NNUH to get a maternity bereavement suite up and running for all those bereaved parents who lose a baby.
We would love to see a space where families are able to grieve and create memories with their baby in a peaceful and warm environment and away from other babies.
If you would like to help make this happen please do consider making a donation or holding an event to raise funds.
Bake sales, runs, swims, auctions, raffles, open mic nights and quiz nights are all great ways to raise funds & if you would like to set something up we would love to hear from you and support you!
Just email email@example.com or visit the page below to donate online.
Huge thanks to Abbie for sharing her experience & helping us to raise funds towards a maternity bereavement suite at NNUH.
It was on my due date that I felt reduced movements from my baby. I went to the hospital where I was given a scan and given the news no parent wants to hear, ‘my baby had died’. When I delivered Luna-Mai my daughter, I was in the room at the end of delivery suite which was the bereavement room that they had then, it was very clinical. It was so difficult having to walk past all the normal delivery rooms to one at the end of the corridor knowing there were woman in labour with their babies.
It was extremely difficult for my family who were coming to visit me, Ryan and Luna-Mai as they were having to walk past happy families leaving with their babies. If there was a bereavement suite away from the normal delivery area it would give the family that extra peace needed at such a terrible time.
